Brent, in our office has become our resident “keep us up to date” guy on all things related to real estate in politics. There is a Bill floating around the state called HB 261 that will allow for up to $3600 state tax credit for people who purchase a home that qualifies. As far as we know, at this point, a home has to be listed with a realtor at the time the bill is signed, and has to close within a six month period. Brent Ellis, ABR, GREEN, EcoBroker
Keller Williams Realty Platinum Partners, sent us an update:
“Was informed that the General Assembly only has 5 days left in this session, and the Governor will then have an additional 40 days to sign the bill or veto the bill. SOOO, at MOST we have 45 days to wait to hear if this passes. But realistically this is going to pass as soon as this week.”

First time homebuyers could potentially have tax credits/rebates up to $11,600!! If you are a seller that qualifies, you better believe we will be advertising that trying to move our listed properties, as will everyone else so if you are thinking of selling, sign that agreement, if not with us, with someone, or you will be at a HUGE disadvantage! Buyers, get ready because your opportunity is about to become even bigger than before.
